In short
This policy covers screwboltchart.com (the “Site”), operated by ScrewBoltChart (“we”, “us”). The Site has no accounts and no sign-up. The measuring tools run entirely in your browser: nothing you measure, calibrate or type into a search box is sent to us.
- Your settings are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
- Ads, where shown, are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies subject to your consent.
Stored on your device
To keep the gauge accurate between visits, the Site saves a few preferences in your browser's localStorage: your screen calibration (pixels per millimetre and the reference used), your preferred units, and interface choices such as the last tab you used. These values never leave your device, are not cookies, and are not readable by us. Clear your browser's site data to remove them.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are used. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage for tracking, and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records aggregate information such as the page visited, referring site, country, browser and device type. The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and secure the Site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Advertising and cookies
The Site is free because it is supported by advertising. Where ads are shown, they are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and, where you allow it, personalise them based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
For how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” in Google's policies.
Your choices and consent
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) before any advertising cookies are set. You can accept, refuse or choose per purpose, and change your choice at any time from the privacy link the CMP provides. If you refuse, Google may still serve non-personalised or limited ads, which use cookies only where the law allows.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the measuring tools, which do not rely on them.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Because we hold no account data and the tools process nothing on our servers, we usually have no personal data about you to access, correct or delete. Where we do hold some (for example, an email you sent us), you may ask for a copy, a correction or deletion, object to or restrict processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. Our lawful bases are your consent (advertising cookies), our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site (hosting and cookie-free analytics), and replying to you (email).
California residents: we do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. You can opt out through the consent controls, Google's Ad Settings, or a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we treat as a valid opt-out request.
If you email us
If you write to contact@screwboltchart.com, we receive your address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply and to fix any data you report, and delete correspondence when it is no longer needed. The contact page's “format an inquiry” helper runs in your browser and opens your own mail app; it does not send or store anything.
Children
The Site is a general engineering reference not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date at the top. Questions about privacy: contact@screwboltchart.com.
